Described by MAC as ‘demure cool pink flush’ the name of this product sums it up pretty well–it’s a cream, it’s a blush. It’s also pretty fantastic, if you ask me. The packaging is standard MAC–round black and clear plastic compact with the MAC logo on the lid. It’s the same size as their other blushes, with a clear lid so you can see the color. This is part of MAC’s permanent line, thank goodness. Blushcreme is $17.50, which is not at all bad for the amount of product you get. I’ll probably never use one up even using it nearly every day.
The color description of this blush is, like most MAC products, not exactly spot on. MAC seems to have a wee problem with describing colors accurately, in my opinion. That’s okay though, MAC. I ain’t mad at ya. I’ve learned over the years how to make an educated guess as to what the color of a MAC product *really* is without seeing it in person. I’d say this is more of a neutral to warm pink which is universally flattering. Whatever color pink you decide it is, it’s gorgeous. It gives the most natural healthy looking flush, belying how scarily pigmented it looks in the pot. It doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter, but it does give a nice sheen when applied. It doesn’t look greasy or heavy, and didn’t seem to sit on top of my skin like a few cream formulas I’ve tried. I haven’t had any problems with breakouts or clogged pores with this product, and I think even oily skinned gals could use this.
A tiny tap of your index finger into the pot is all you need to have enough product for one cheek. I prefer to use my fingers for this because I find that it gives a more natural look, but a MAC 187 or some other brush made for applying cream blushes would work just fine.
The bottom line: You know how sometimes you find yourself in a product rut where you reach for the same few items over and over? Well, I’ve been reaching for Ladyblush almost every single day, but I don’t feel like I’m in a rut at all. I feel like I’ve maybe found my perfect HG pink blush. Gorgeous dewy look that’s not over the top, beautiful color, and generous amount of product for the very reasonable price tag.
