I was recently lucky enough to be chosen to receive a Mom Voxbox from Influenster chock full of lovely products.  Among them was a single bar of ivory soap that Ivory was kind enough to send .  Although I’m not normally a ‘bar’ soap type of person, I did find many uses for this product.  I flaked some into my laundry and it did a great job.  Also, I found that it’s actually pure and gentle enough to use on my face without breakouts.  Overall, very good product at a reasonable price. Find your Ivory now at your nearest retailer, including stores such as Walmart and Target as well as any major grocery, dollar and drug store.  A 10-pack of Ivory bar soap retails for around  $4.49 (bath bar size).

I got a gun for Christmas.  A sweet little .380 pink Taurus.  Today was the first day that I got to take it to the range and shoot and it was so nice.  There’s something very primal about holding a gun and knowing you could defend yourself with it.  I do a lot of my grocery shopping late at night at a 24 hour grocery that isn’t in the best neighborhood.  It’s the best time to go because I can go while the kids are asleep and Boy Scout is home (which pretty much limits to late hours) and I don’t have to hurry. Downside is the seedy neighborhood so Boy Scout talked me into getting a handgun.  I’m not sure he was thrilled that I chose a pink one, but hey.  I couldn’t resist, it’s cute!  Speaking of grocery shopping, don’t miss tomorrow’s Sunday paper with a possible 6 coupon inserts!

I received the cutest little Fruit Smoothie face mask from Montagne Jeunesse in my complimentary Influenster Holiday Vox-Box.  I see these frequently at Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and CVS.  My 6 year old daughter is obsessed with face masks and beauty products in general, so she immediately glommed onto this and begged until I agreed to do a face mask with her.  She applied it to both of us and it was a lot of fun–it smelled fantastic and left both of us with silky smooth skin.  Of course she has perfect baby skin anyways, but she really had a great time doing this with me.  More information about Montagne Jeunesse can be found on their official website at http://www.montagnejeunesse.com The official word on Montagne Jeunesse as provided by Influenster:

I recently received a complimentary NYC Liquid Lipshine in ‘Nude York City’ as part of my Influenster holiday Vox-Box.  This is a fantastic gloss to toss in your purse for a quick touch-up.  The color is a nice neutral nude that has a similar consistency to a MAC Lipglass but at a much more inexpensive price point.  It applies with a flexible doe’s foot applicator and has a pleasant cocoa-y vanilla scent that I like.  It gives a nice shine and MLBB appearance but if you’re looking for it to cover your lip color you will want to choose a different shade.  My pigmented lips still peek out from underneath this, but I don’t mind that.  This is a sticky gloss, again reminiscent of MAC’s Lipglasses, that you will want to reapply after eating or drinking.  You can find more information about NYC on their official website at  http://www.newyorkcolor.com/  The official word on NYC as provided by Influenster:

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias. Start shopping for NYC at these stores nearest you: Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, Duane Reade, Kmart, HEB, and others.  Visit newyorkcolor.com to check out all shades and fun products from New York Color!

For any of you beauty addicts out there who like Besame Cosmetics get thee to the Besame site immediately and take advantage of their fantastic close-out sale.  Prices are almost too good to be true–70% or more discount on everything in stock.  That’s about $4-$12 after the discount!  If you’re unfamiliar with Besame’s products this is an unbeatable opportunity to try their cosmetics without making your credit card cry.  It’s usually a fairly pricey line but the current sale prices are drugstore cheap.  The shipping cost is a little expensive, but it’s more than worth it considering the fabulous savings you’re getting on the products.

Besame products are of excellent quality and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous.  I would buy their items for the packaging alone–exquisitely crafted in weighty golden metal with an Art Deco look and feel.  The product formulations are luxurious, glamorous, and highly pigmented.  I heartily recommend the Vanity Case, Enchanting Lipstick, Alluring Eye Shadow, and Boudoir Rouge as a starting point if this is your first venture into this brand.

Personal favorite shades of mine are the Cherry Red lipstick, Plum Dandy eyeshadow, and Raspberry Boudoir Rouge.  I desperately wanted a pressed powder compact and vanity case in the lightest shades, a luxurious trio set, and all 3 lipstick sets but they are sadly sold out of all of those items.  They still have a lot of other items remaining in stock though, so hurry!  I really hope Besame is only selling their stock in order to introduce new packaging or product formulas, because it would be a real shame if this company disappeared.

Information about the sale from Besame’s website: Close-out sales event EXTENDED to September 7th 11:59 pm.  Sale price only valid at besamecosmetics.com. No returns or exchanges. All sales are final. No other promotional offer will be valid.  Free shipping is not available.Keep in mind that supplies are limited, and items will be taken off the site as they sell out. All orders will receive a free gift of full sized product while supplies last.

Orders over $100 will receive a gift of a Trio Set, Vanity Case or other Besame treasure while supplies last. Free gift may not be selected.
